I program almost exclusively with php and JavaScript. Please forgive me.

PHP gets too much shit. It’s a decent language. The newer versions are not so bad.
Many of us actually got in to programming thanks to PHP, so it still has a special space in my heart.
It works for me that’s all that matters. I’ve been using laravel for over 10 years so idk… no need to change
PHP has been around forever... no shame in the game.
As long as you're productive and hopefully have learned to use the newer features and moved to typed PHP.
A couple of years ago I worked on a MASSIVE project which will remain nameless, backend is a highly scaleable microservices system entirely built in PHP w/ a CQRS pattern.
Scales beautifully... I'm sure could be more efficient in some other language in some places, but worth the effort? likely not.
Basically the same conclusion I’ve come to. It’s not what all the cool kids are using but I don’t care since it does the job well.
