The centralized folks (microsoft, google, fuck book, openai) are trying to legislate open source ai away into oblivion, because open source models are as good as their models, and often outperform them. Open source also ensures that the productive capacities related to AI stay in the hands of the many, instead of centralizing in the hands of the few.
