This is how it concludes:

What was once the embodiment of environmental values now seems increasingly to be fighting for the other side. In some places, fighting harder each year.”
I have no clue what he thinks should be done about it, but he’s definitely calling out forests for “fighting for the other side”. 
If I had to bet, I would bet this is the solution to these white supremacist forests. Conveniently, Bill Gates has just the investment to save us.
