Manchester United's former manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his gratitude to fans and staff after being sacked by the club. Ten Hag, who won two trophies during his tenure, thanked supporters for their unwavering support despite a disappointing end to his time at Old Trafford.

Despite finishing eighth in the league last season, Ten Hag achieved notable successes, including winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. However, his departure comes after a poor start to the 2024-25 campaign, with the team sitting 14th after nine games.

The club has appointed Ruben Amorim as its new permanent manager, who will take over on November 11. Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in charge for the next three fixtures.
