I think eventually we will figure out that time isn’t a thing, just like gravity isn’t a real thing, it’s the broken part of physics. There is no universal time, it’s a local state a bit like temperature.

There’s only energy and entropy.

If you think about entropy it makes more sense if it flows in the opposite direction, from disorder to order. That would take work.

But instead order to disorder produces work.

Goes back to information, can the universe create information or was all the information created with the big bang? Physicists can’t decide.
