For running windmills on this scale to "produce" electricity it's the only known solution so far imho.
Blades need to be strong and light due to extreme forces, metal blades are more heavy, deform, oxidize and cause a hell of vibration which damages the rest of the construction in the long run.
There's nothing in a windmill that makes it hard to mass produce or the replies would be actual explanations instead of bullshit like this
