Well, in NVK's case, he runs a Bitcoin company and has an awesome review pod. If people come across that and want to follow him on socials, they'll likely follow him to nostr. Same can be said for anyone that has an audience if their content, personality or whatever makes them want to interact.

It’s a good point. And I agree with the reasons to focus one’s time on nostr. But to ignore a potential funnel, or a large audience, and work to engage them seems…wrong, too.

Yeah, I get that side of the coin, too. Ultimately it will be up to pleb word of mouth if all of the bigger accounts do go exclusive.
