I can't stop thinking about this UX path for Cashu wallets:

- Receive token from foreign mint

- Wallet asks user: "Do you trust this mint?"

- User says "no"

- Wallet executes swap from foreign mint to trusted mint immediately

- Everyone is happy

YES

Or just redeem for BTC, the only money you can trust

Try it:

Already spent 😢

Yeah thanks i already test this and it worked great. But then after I installed the web cashu and nutstash wallet as an app on my phone,... accidentally uninstalled my browser and lost the sats/ecash.... Backup option would be nice.👍

It should be still there if you didn't explicitly delete your local storage! Hope that's the case!

It doesnt show any history when i add it again. No problem, the amounts were tiny. Protip for those reading: dont uninstall a web app from 'app info' (this will uninstall your browser) but drag the icon of your screen..

when you go to cashu.me in your browser, the local storage should / could also be the same (depending on your OS I guess)

It shows empty wallet. I use CalyxOS.. Maybe it deletes everything when uninstalling.

Why not make the swap default?

Options are good. There are benefits of having funds on multiple mints. I think of it like having funds available on different services like Stacker news, LightningTipBot, LNbits, yadayadayada.

Options are always good for indivual expression of preferences. But from ux perspective options are always bad and I was mainly addressing the ux perspective 🤗

What sucks UX-wise is if your Total amount is spread across multiple mints, then user tries to spend all, and it presented with: "not enough funds" (bc you obvs can't combine tokens from multiple mints in one payment)

Also, would be good to have some sort of coin control i.e. ability to select the mint from which you want to spend a certain invoice/request
