If using bitcoind, then yes, it might be going into automatic `--reindex-chainstate` Depending on your internet connection and drive type it could take between 3 days to a month to `--reindex-chainstate` Once bitcoind is finished, then your lightning node will connect.

Oh you know what.... The machine the node is running on has onboard wifi from a board that prob came out around 2010... And I just realized, I may have forgotten to plug in the ethernet. This machine is ancient, its running DDR3. Last hardware update was probably 2015.

I originally built that machine in 2004. It had a floppy disk drive. I've still got that drive in a box somewhere 🤷🏻‍♂️ probably... by 2015 the only original part was the case. I figure it's survived so long, would be a shame to let it go to waste.
