Yes but I guess I was saying no one is making them use the shitty platforms. It's just that nostr offers a huge incentive to build on the protocol because one clients or relays opinion can only affect your reach on their own systems, not your notes themselves on any other systems that may exist. This is a lesson people will only learn after getting burned a few times before figuring it out.

I would argue that there is something keeping people there, it’s either the content or the audience. Centralized platforms have all the incentives to be there at the moment. Very few people are able to make a living posting to the nostr protocol exclusively.

No one should make a living posting to one single platform. It's all pumped up by fiat.

The post refers to changing the client, not the network.
