i am a n00b.
if you want me to explain the ins and outs of proof of work and its' history i know a shitload of it... there was a huge culture around it for some time and i soaked it up and after returning to bitcoin on bitcoin twitter i figured out a heap of things... oh yeah, maybe i could be some kind of influencoor to try and teach people to not be fooled
there is only one valid PoW
bitcoin
there is no other PoW with any kind of security
if you want to hassle me for an hour on a podcast to talk about exactly why i'm more than willing
i could improve bitcoin's difficulty adjustment
but i don't think it actually could really improve anything

it took me a long time to realise that there can only be one
proof of work for nostr notes isnt about security or a form of value. its simply a kind of signal similar to vanity addresses, npubs, and more.
signalling what exactly?
if that signal becomes worth something you are toast
it signals that i felt it important enough to expend resources to achieve a desired result. the fact that the result doesnt have a monetary value, or resources used could have been allocated elsewhere in a profitable way vs a loss isnt the goal.
what makes you think that SHA256 hashes are going to be distinctive for your protocol versus 16gb typical thousands of cores GPUS?
