How many Bitcoin nodes are currently in operation?
Is bitnodes.io considered a reliable source? It suggests 18K “reachable” nodes and 53K “global” nodes (although I’m not entirely sure what defines the difference).

I'm not sure if the nodes that aren't allowing incoming connections can be mapped there..
Got it. Do those nodes basically still validate blocks and broadcast the node runner’s transactions? What does it mean to block incoming connections
Probably not including nodes behind tor.
