I think it's because Falcom kinda don't like much to credit key individuals in specific roles in fear that they may get snatched by other game devs, this made them mess real hard with their old music team (yes, now it's another music team, not as good as the old one).

Thanks a lot for the sats. I guess one could say the old portraits are also a product of their time, but I still prefer them, especially Joshua, who now just looks like a bratty rich kid, and Estelle, who seems way less like a proper tsundere. :purple_hugging:

And you're right, I do prefer the OG portraits and UI too as there's a lot of beauty and charm on them. I think Falcom peaked between Ys VI and YS VIII.

This one is Eimele's portrait, from The Legend of Heroes A Tear of Vermellion, simply beautiful as it's a remake made by Falcom of Gagharv series
