I just want to be able to set op_return filter as i feel fit for my node, my mempool. Don’t understand much of what is heating up all this, i only understand that the limit setting will no longer be possible by node runners? Changing from core to knots isn’t really an option i think because only maintained by one developer

Why does it matter when your nodes performance will be unaffected without the filter? Bitcoin will also be unaffected.

Why are you so vocal on this topic? It’s strange.

A couple weeks ago, before a I watched nostr:nprofile1qqs8fl79rnpsz5x00xmvkvtd8g2u7ve2k2dr3lkfadyy4v24r4k3s4sppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcv0c66w mechanic and shinobi debate this and countless hours of other podcasts including nostr:nprofile1qqsggcc8dz9qnmq399n7kp2yu79fazxy3ag8ztpea4y3lu4klgqe46qpz3mhxue69uhkummnw3ezum3dw35jumt99uq3gamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7tpvfkx2tn0wfnj7uzjd8r I didn’t have a big opinion (and I still don’t) but one is clearly better for keeping the blockchain bloat minimal.

At scale, imagine a decade from now, this could be a big deal.

All for what? NFT’s?

Wouldn’t it be nice if running a node was so cheap that most bitcoiners all ran one?

This does not affect the cost of running a node. I'm vocal because of the amount of misinformation out there influencimg people like yourself that are not technical enough to understand these things. I'm vocal because I care about Bitcoin. Is that so weird?

Again... You are just wrong. Your mempool has no bearing on how large or small the blockchain is.

Increasing the blocksize doesn't effect storage cost?!

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to run a node on an old phone?
