The big males get super aggressive during the rut. If you make any noise that resembles another bull moose they'll come from miles away to run you off. That's awesome when you are hunting them.

The also get testy when the snow is deep and food is scarce. People get injured by them on ski trails in winter.

The cows get really aggressive during calving season. An old dude near me got stomped to death in 2024 while trying to photograph new calves.
