Trigger warning ahead for things that trigger you! 🐸 🫶🏻

The names are important later.

Okay I was raised by my grandma, Gloria. She was my best friend in the entire world. She died of ovarian cancer on Mother’s Day in 2007 and watching her death is one of my life’s greatest traumas. She went from diagnosed to gone in 3 weeks. She died just two days after I graduated college.

Fast forward to 2012. My first child (a son) was stillborn. Easily my life’s greatest trauma. His name was Robert. I always wished that I could have had my grandma around after I lost him because she lost her first baby, too.

I went on after Robert to have two living daughters. They are now 8 & 10. They wanted to start collecting squishmallows. So that’s what we did. I went on a bit of a squishmallow buying craze and I also ended up with my most prized squishmallow…Dear. The poison dart frog. (I’ll attach photos)

So I say one day to my daughters…I am gonna see if I can find any frog friends for Dear! And I went to Mercari. I searched “frog squishmallow”

And the first result was two frog squishmallows. Their names? Gloria (the big one) and Robert (the little one).

Of all the squishmallows in the world. And of all the squishmallows that could’ve been pictured together. And then of all the names in the world…one of those things that brings me a tiny bit of peace in this life.

Anyway…thanks for listening to my 🐸 story!

My kid has a ton of squishmallows too. He uses some as a burglar alarm. 🤣

Amazing! We bought them one of the HUGE ones and my cats took it over as a bed 🤣

Definitely no burglars getting through here!
