Just finished my taxes. Every year this takes longer. My "income" is about a 1/3 of what it was pre-covid. And of course I owe.
I would love a country where annual filing of this nonsense wasn't a requirement. In hindsight, bribes to corrupt officials is likely a more transparent and easier process.
"Covid" (meaning the US gov'ts ridiculous response to "covid") destroyed small business, which is the primary market for my business. So I feel your pain.
Most Americans don't "owe" any federal income tax. Most are fraudulently duped into paying "voluntarily."
Look up the literal definition of "employee" in Title 26 USC.
