Dude, stop trying to turn him into some kind of super spy.

1. It was more like a 150 yd shot. The news readers are just too lazy to pull it up on Google earth and measure.

2. That's a typically hunting distance. Typically hunters with typically equipment make 150 yd shots every day.

3. He missed his mark by ~6". A prudent person would aim for the chest. Someone who plays too many video games would aim for the head. Nobody aims for the neck.

Motive is what differentiates this nut job from the average man in the street, not means or opportunity.

Shoot went for a head shot and didn’t factor in for gravity when shooting from a higher location than the target.

You've got that backwards. Bullet drop is based on horizontal distance to the target. When shooting at an angle (up or down) you'll hit high if aiming based on the line of sight distance.

Still most bad shots are from pulling outta the shot during recoil which results in a high miss to the shooting shoulder side. If ur not shooting from a bench and square to the target this problem is exacerbated esp with higher caliber rifles.

Ur right that center mass is the normal shot and if that’s what he was aiming for that’s possible for a typical hunter. Most misses are indeed high and to the shooter’s shooting shoulder side which would be right handed in the case of this shot.

Still that kinda shot in that situation would be nerve wracking for even experienced hunters. I still struggle to believe that “nut job” would not have a difficult time pulling this off.

Stock rifles are rarely sub moa….and even if u find one that is that it’s still 1 1/2 to 2” at 150 to 200 yards. I hunt with all kind of dudes that are sure of their abilities at 150 or above yards. We have a lot of 2 man stands and I regularly watch these guys fold like wet rags when they’re shooting at over 100 yards. I’ve tracked a lot of animals for hours from these types of shots.

I like to compare all the guys with stock rifles that brag about their 200+ yard shots to the baseball dads who’s sons throw 65+ mph at 10 years old….my response I’ll believe it when I’m holding the radar gun.

Srry….we just have a difference o opinion🫡😉
