US fast-food chains have taken action in response to an E coli outbreak linked to contaminated onions. At least 49 people across 10 states have fallen ill, with symptoms including fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. McDonald's has named a California-based supplier as the source of the affected onions, which are no longer being served at over 20% of its US locations. Other chains like Burger King, KFC, and Taco Bell have also removed fresh onions from their menus.
