If you use a firewall on Android and limit what apps can connect to mobile data and sync in the background, you'll realize you don't truely need large data packages. I originally realized this when daily driving the Pinephone and running mobile Linux. If I am not home with a wifi connection, 9 times out of 10 I am working and not using my phone. Now my phone plan is 1,000 voice minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited data with 1gb high speed. Using the same T-Mobile network, so it shouldn't cause any issues. After a week it seems to fine. $10 per month.

This --- I think many would be surprised at that capability/cost ratio ha! -- See: 'Google Fi' etc ....-- Real cool! -- Freedom tools ftw! -- Open Source -- Together WE are Strong

I avoid all Google services. I'm on Mango. The first 4 months actually cost $5 if you port in and prepay. Great deal if T-Mobile has coverage in your area and you don't need much data.
