I haven't tried nos.social onboarding in a long time, but it sounds like it's still all about nip-05? I think nip-05 is great/simple, but doesn't really support censorship resistance very well. so I was thinking about ways to upgrade that property for people who care

Nip-05 is not needed for censorship resistance. NIP – 05 does make nostr a bit more user-friendly

I tried npub.world and searched for a few names/NIP-05s... I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. can you tell me more about its purpose?

Say your nip-05 provider rugpulls you.

Npub.world shows that via web of trust there is a way to ascertain whether you are the dk or an imposter without nip-05.
