Trying out Start9. Couldnt get it to work in Hyper-V, but process seems to be ok with Virtualbox.
First thoughts on installing and configuring bitcoin...
1. This seems to trust Start9 marketplace as theres no clear way for users to verify signatures and hash.
2. Everything is exposed on various tor endpoints, which doesnt need to be and creates unneccesary attack vectors. For example
- rpc interface
- zeromq interface
3. On the plus side, some config options are explained and theres convenient qr codes and copy shortcuts for lengthy urls
4. Configuration is severely limited and its not clear how a custom config would be done. For example, only mainnet, no binding ip or setting external, no i2p, no detailed zeromq config, no transaction relay control.
5. Its UI is pretty, like a set top box appliance. I just find myself wanting to run commands and ill have to see how to ssh into this thing
Im going to let this do its sync thing in pruned mode to try some stuff before blowing it away for a few install index and i guess electrs since i couldnt find fulcrum in community section.
