Yes, but sparrow is mostly for HW wallets, for hot wallets smartphone is more secure and on a smartphone all updates are already signed and it is verified by the OS
While upgrading wallet software it's advisable to verify what you've downloaded. It could be that someone interfered and you downloaded an altered version, that steals your funds.
