Interesting disagreement between you both. Tough one though, eh? At some point you have to stand and fight for your rights. But how and when and where? Difficult for people to judge.

If they had put together code that was open source and there was no payment to use it then I would be really pissed about the privacy shit but this isn’t about privacy. This is about them putting through transactions, knowing that plenty of them came from black or gray market transactions. Backs Are not allowed to do that why would anyone think that any government would say this was OK and a violation of our privacy Bitcoin has never been private. It’s an open ledger.
I'm pretty sure 'they' did not 'put thru transactions' though.
They wrote code for people to use to cooridinate collaborative transactions without their involvement....
My problem is, they were idiots about a lot of stuff. They were very cocky and they thumbed their nose at the government. This case is going to set some sort of precedent in the Bitcoin world and this is not the case I would like to do that. I would like a case where a Company did their best to follow the law wherever they are based and didn’t say go to hell when anyone questioned them. If nobody has learned to keep their mouth shut on social media and not say certain things because of this, I don’t know what will either. Just being in Bitcoin you should know governments have and will go after this stuff. There was a lot of stupidity here and things they could’ve done better and put themselves in a way better position. For the greater good of all of us.
