#[0] How does Damus pick what image to show for a link to a regular web page? Is there a way in HTML markup to signal which image is the chosen image?

Never mind, I found it. Open Graph is a Facebook convention in which page authors can provide metadata so that Facebook can more reliably generate link previews. In particular, the og:image property lets you specify the image for a page. https://ogp.me/
Yeah Twitter has one too, I think most websites do these so links show as a nice picture
