Noncompliance is pretty much the only thing. They will tell us we have to use centralized exchanges. You have to be willing to still trade P2P or use Bisq. They will tell us we can’t coinjoin. You have to be willing to still coinjoin. As a business they will tell you that you have to KYC your customers who pay with Bitcoin. You have to be willing to let your customers still pay anonymously. Takes the will to take some risk, which will be tough during the “then they fight you” stage which we are in the beginning of.

I also think about having plausible deniability. Using lightning as it was intended is about the most normal thing you can do with bitcoin, and it offers moderate privacy. The problem is with all these LSPs moving in.

Lightning as it is right now is pretty private, but businesses will likely be told to run OFAC compliance nodes like this, at which point noncompliance comes in to play.

I can imagine these businesses will want to keep it a secret if they are running this software which makes it hard to vote with your satoshi.

99% of all Americans have no idea that the US Government confiscated all the gold they have now. I’m not kidding ask people you know if they knew that in the 1930’s the US made it illegal to own gold and they will NOT believe you.
