yeah, i've been thinking about this considering that pretty much i want to live in the country and almost everything i want to buy that isn't available locally is from USA so this whole dance i'm doing with customs right now becomes irrelevant

and i already don't much care for immigration rules, i use my passport to cross borders and then nobody cares how long i stay... except serbia, who exiled me for 2 months for 3 times failing to get my visa sorted out

ironically in that case i could have just popped over to bulgaria or bosnia or croatia for 10 minutes and come back and they would have been happy with that

something tells me that once i'm ensconced within a rural community somewhere in the midwest i'm barely even ever gonna get asked by a cop for ID, never happens here in madeira, and this is papers please europe (not one time in almost 6 months been asked for my ID except as regards to customs at the post office)
