How long will it take institutions to suggest that we(the people) should increase the number of bitcoin from 21 million to X number of #bitcoin ? I think over the 5 to 10 years you will see institutions play the most aggressive game of game theory to control and exploit bitcoin. And to also remind the people to who sets the table in this game.

How much capital do you think it would take for institutions to provision 20k nodes?

Well then they can go play with their inflationary BlackCoin fork while the rest us ignore them. They'll get wrecked eventually. Would make a mess in the meantime though.

The node vote is not a democracy, an overwhelming majority of nodes forking into Blackcoin will just get ignored by the original chain's nodes.
