You can't just label someone as corrupt and callift a day. They're not corrupt, Gary is just looking out for himself.
Just like how us Bitcoiners aren't trying to help out the US govt but are trying to exit the system.

We should stop getting surprised whenever a centralised entity is corrupt, duh! It's the nature of such organizations. There's no incentive for them to act faithfully in favour of strangers.
Spot on. And the FDA corruption is so prevalent, almost hard to fine one article that justly summarizes the numerous bad actions and broken incentives. There is literally a Wikipedia page detailed FDA “criticism” that highlights their failings/corruption.

For a serious answer, start here and dig in - I think you will find many broken incentives and many cases of corruption. I believe many examiners, lawyers, and others that work there are good people, but at top level, many instances of turning a blind eye.
