that's what you and I see. this isn't what others see.

I've spoken with friends of mine who work in tech firms. They see the ideological stance of everyone who is on Nostr as a big hurdle.

The architecture of Nostr is not an innovative or novel thing, in their eyes.

Nostrs beginning was around the same time as other centralized platforms, which often have political motivation behind their development and are reflecting that in the echo chambers they've become.

How can Nostr move past this problem?

If you are not ideologically aligned with nostr’s vision of having control of your data and freedom to move between clients, then no you would not care, you would simply use the all of the other locked-in, spyware social media clients.

If you don’t see the value of bitcoin then no, you will continue to use fiat and the legacy financial system that is designed to spy on you and restrict your freedom.

This is not a problem to move past, it’s an education problem for getting people onto the life rafts. The best way to educate is to build this out and make it easy to use.

Agree with your last point about building, making Nostr/LN easy to use.

The point is though that not everyone has to align with the core ideology of Bitcoin today. People from around the world can and should use it in the best way they see fit, provided they are not hindering others from doing the same.

Maybe this killer app or killer use case idea is something that bridges the divide between c. fin. and c. social media and the world of Nostr and BTC. It delivers superior value with the upside of taking back control of our information.
