amazing but I have been wondering about these types of flowers. Do they die every year?

Yes the are annuals. Don't know your zone but you can start them from seed indoors. We did that this year but had poor results. Will try again next year though.

ok we have a greenhouse. Seems like expensive to keep restarting from purchase, life and death and restart.

We do the same. Two years ago, we planted what was supposed to be a dwarf variety, but they ended up growing enormous and engulfing the eggplants and peppers they were supposed to be companions for. The marigold plants at the end of the season were almost three feet in height and diameter! I suspect a mixup at the seed packaging facility...
