It looks like there may have been breakthrough in room temp superconducting. This would unlock a branch on the tech tree. That + nuclear fission will be a game changer. Unlock fusion, and we're on our way to Type I on the Kardashev scale.
Fusion is closer than ever. Commercially viable within 10 years.
