I love Billy the Kid, he had honor.
In the Cattle War , he was sitting round with his possy , and his best friend came to tell him he was going to fight for the other side, and Billy shook his hand.
As Billy's friend was riding away , one of his possy trained his rifle on him to take a shot and Billy whooped him , saying how dare he take a cheap shot at a man that had the bravery to come and tell them of his defection to their face.

A story it is, and refute it if you care to, but it has outlasted flesh and bone.
To be frank, as acts of honor become more infrequent, it does sound more and more like fiction.
the best acts of honor are the most memorable, enough to give hope and guidance to others. we should strive for that
