DeBlasio seems like a good preview for what it would look like?

As someone who holds more interest in urbanism than perhaps the "modal" Nostrich, I'm very interested to see how this all turns out. The question for how to manage the Great American Cities in the 21st century is both a pressing and fascinating problem.

Free buses and State-run grocery stories seem like pretty bad ideas to me. Lack of fare enforcement pushes transit systems that much closer to "roving homeless shelters"... At least that's been the experience in Los Angeles, where they've kind of gone the opposite direction in installing more and better fare gates.
