Yes. Nobody around me talk about #bitcoinΒ , family, friends, coworkers. Some of them think it’s a scam, or don’t trust on its volatility, others think they must buy a whole bitcoin, or just heard it was 69k and then was 17k. They prefer to buy dollars or put their Argentine pesos in a fixed-term deposit.

That is a shame…though understandable as most Argentines I know have been bitten by having any savings in pesos and then having those pesos either stolen, or devalued horrendously by their government. The only stability they have experienced is when buying USD, which continues to have the most stable track record there. This drives them to short sighted savings principles. Hell they even finance their groceries with β€œquotas” (monthly payments) because the amount they will have to pay in 12 months will be much smaller than today due to the currency devaluation. It will take more time to make them believers en masse. Best of luck!

Makes sense. The slow boiling frog idea. Stay strong and educate. Best way is to ask questions to get them to reach their own understanding.

Great metaphor. Totally right. Thanks for the advice! πŸ‘

Fitting analogy as it's available to all and despite being told about the cave some people refuse to acknowledge it... this person from Argentina speaks on this very issue
