when it comes to programmers, the more popular and charismatic they are, generally the less competent.

being a droll, detail focused, boring geek with a cheeseball sense of humor is a feature, not a bug.

IDK I like Torwalds and he's not boring at all 🤣

he's not very charismatic. also he has buckled to the woke brigades in recent years which i don't like.

don't know anything about his relation or stance to woke ...

he used to be a salty bastard and they made him be nicey nicey with some stupid policy shit for the linux project

i loved his rant against C++ and why he picked C for Git - to not have C++ programmers in the project :) because they are retarded.

good times 🤣

Companies don’t understand it

companies that deal in proprietary information understand it already.

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JUNIE-47

dozens of people saying that cloud LLMs are a no go for their company policy

i doubt it's going to be much different for companies that depend on mobile devices being secure either

they want to be able to fully control that stuff

not your regular small company giving out phones to workers tho. this would be more fancy stuff like investigators and intelligence and military contractors

they always have to allow for this, the companies that have these requirements will fight against locking them out of their own property.

of course it's gonna be nigh impossible for us plebs to get these devices.

for which reason i'm of the opinion that we will see freedom tech people getting into building small mobile devices, not phones, but rather hand held touchscreen based computers with wifi, bluetooth and LoRa capabilities

also, there is tons of old, unlockable hardware floating around on the second hand market and likely these will become quite valuable to a lot of people.

and a lot of people, like me, rejecting mobile devices altogether and moving to a "i'm out, i'm offline" policy
