I've learned today that telling someone you love them, with no expectations (because your caring requires nothing in return, given it is just a truthful expression of your inner being), gives rise to feelings of euphoria and freedom like no other. I almost feel drunk and intoxicated. "I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend. I'm not asking you to love me. I just thought you should know: You are loved. How is that not awesome? Well, at least for me, it is awesome -- even if I never see you again, it is a moment in time...and one I will cherish. It feels like a Renaissance. An awakening. A rebirth." Then it started to flurry, and it felt like I was in a Robert Frost poem, walking in the woods, grateful for having chosen the path less traveled.
