I’ve realized how much I’ve been absorbed in focusing on what I don’t have. And naturally, this created comparisons, and those comparisons led to instability and mistrust towards myself. Therefore, complaints started to form within me, directed at myself again.

This was a circuit that naturally stimulates the amygdala. Through learning about brain science, I realized that whether we live a life that activates the amygdala or one that activates the prefrontal cortex significantly affects our happiness.

And I understood that I am the one who shapes that.

If, over the next one to three years, I focus not on what I lack but on what I have, will my prefrontal cortex become activated, and will I be able to forget my unhappiness and find more joy?
