Bitcoiner Fun Facts

1) The human mind has difficultly with exponential thinking.

2) If you fold a piece of paper 42 times, it will be thick enough to reach the moon, which is 384,400 kilometers away.

3) Bitcoin grows the same way as the paper.

I once had a math teach who told the school board he would work for $0.02 per day so long as they doubled his salary each day.

That’s $10,000,000/day after 31 days of work….

I don’t think he ever got paid for that…

But really that is geometric not parabolic and #BTC will settle an exponential at somewhere between 1.04 and 1.12

But the ride up will be faster…

L F GROW!!!!!

Yes! GROW!!!!!

Often missed it would reach the moon, but about 0.00000000013mm thick

But you can’t actually fold a piece of paper that many times. I’m pretty sure the most you can fold it is seven times, but for the very reason you mentioned, exponential growth.

I remember seeing an episode of mythbusters and the only way they were able to fold a piece of paper more than seven times, was to create a piece of paper the size of an aircraft hangar. 😂 And even then, you could see the same principle playing out.

Yeah we can only do the math on it. I've heard 8 times, and some unconfirmed human getting to 15. Who knows maybe one day we'll have some tech that could get to it. For now we have the theoretical math, but it is sound and plausible (if we can get beyond those physical constraints). Bitcoin has some theoretical limits too, even though those could be far above where we are now.

For example when every single asset has been sold for Bitcoin, people still need a house to cover their heads so the up forever is theoretically sound, but we have pragmatic constraints. So from a pragmatic perspective we can say it's going up "forever, Laura(sort of)."
