I know most people around here don't like the state, myself included. But given that it's the system that we are under this is one of the most important and beneficial rulings from the supreme court in 100 years IMO. This decision basically neuters the power of every single beuroucratic agency in the US today. This is absolutely massive.

I don't know if you're trying to say it's just as bad because the courts determine it instead of beuroucrats, and don't get me wrong, I hate that the state claims authority over these things at all, but stripping that power out of the beuroucratic agencies hands can only be a good thing.

They had much more in the way of resources to screw us over and much less in the way of oversight. The courts also have less time and can't take every case so will have fewer opportunities to take away liberties through court order, whereas beuroucrats seek to do this at every turn.

So while I don't want the state to have this power at all, I really do prefer that the federal agencies have much less than they currently do.
