Honest question from a former catholic here:

I see some people call themselves

“God-fearing”

Like it’s a stamp of pride or status.

What’s up with that? It’s very confusing.

Isn’t “God is Love” still a thing?

Why would people want to be proud that that are afraid of Love?

Is it like +1000 Heaven Points or something I’ve not heard about?

Do folks gain status in their in-group for labelling themselves in such a way?

What am I missing?
