How come I can use an NWC connection to use whichever wallet I want and still have the ability to zap? On iOS, obviously.

This was actually a conversation I was having last week with a few people because I asked why primal can zap natively but you need a hack to do it on Damus. The long and short of it seemed to be that primal’s wallet is dedicated to the app and if you want to add funds, you have to go through Apple, giving them their cut. Ok, that makes sense.

So, why can almost every other client other than Damus, use an NWC wallet, allowing them to add funds from outside of the Apple ecosystem, and Apple doesn’t give them any problems?

I have my theories but I would prefer to hear from some more knowledgeable people in regards to how Apple gets theirs. To be clear, I have no problem with how Apple does business, they’re not a charity, that’s not what this post is about. #asknostr #nostr #btc #zaps

So, since no one could give me a valid answer, I’ll go with my notion, that Apple thinks the Damus dev is a douchebag as well so they blocked his app from sending zaps.😂🤣😂 #nostr
