It's a weird debate. She isn't wrong. China isn't communist. Atleast by most definitions. It's ran by the communist party. It has very few social programs.

China is what you get when you try to apply communism ideas. Communism as usually defined isn't possible to implement.

When confronted with that fact people will say well it's a critique of capitalism.

And it's like ok but critiques are not solutions and aren't super helpful by themselves.
