People are freaking out.
“Be ready to destroy a data centre by air strike…”
Oh that’s comforting…
This is going to wind up its own little Luddite terror initiative

This is an excellent example of the difference between fiat / statist thinking vs Bitcoin / praxeological thinking.
The fiat mind sucks at game theory - it goes from C to A to M to Z. Unpracticed in first principles they don’t know how to deconstruct and logically deduce to an end, they always cloud everything with their existing frame not even realising they’re doing this.
Why is it that humanity will die at the hands of AI? The author has NFI, that’s the assumption they begin with and they craft a narrative to support their desired ends around it.
Like how goldbugs jump straight to “oh yeah what about when the power goes out for a week” - well how about the 400 thousand other intervening points before that? Don’t you think it’s worth exploring those first before going to a point where money wouldn’t even matter?!
The AI genie isn’t going back in the bottle. Calling for a moratorium is a joke - how did the moratorium on Gain Of Function work out? Oh yeah the US Gov weaponised it..
Expecting the state to be able to tame it is also a joke. Here look to Bitcoin - they couldn’t stop it even if they wanted to, then look how quickly these AIs have spread as #[3] posted the other day.
The State and fiat brains can’t handle it because they’re stuck in a frame where everything is destructive, where they think they can control every one and thing from a virus to the global economy if they just coerce people harder whereas we know that not to be true.
Bitcoiners like #[4] understand this, they see that in a world where tech is deflationary we could use this stuff to our benefit but it’s likely to be weaponised under fiat because that’s the incentive.
I’m far more concerned with AI being trained to be ideologically woke and what that means, or AI being connected to armed Boston Dynamics robots so some billionaire has a fuckin army than I am some hypothetical “we’re all gonna die” scenario that they can’t articulate.
My answer would be to free people from these obsolete political governance systems that force collective action against our will. If you can’t stop AI, don’t force us all to get stuck in whatever path is coming because the gerontocracy says so.
Much the same if we head to WWIII for example - the best course of action is individualistic, defend yourself and your family rather than subscribing to the borg which will likely get you killed.
Humanity will not wipe itself out entirely with AI or nukes or anything else - individuals will survive it. We could flourish with these technologies but not before we reset our monetary system and the incentives that change downstream of that but the statists and fiat brains won’t go there willingly..
