Most of my professional career has been spent being needlessly intimidated by people who can memorize all the tedious steps required to use the things they've made unecessarily complicated.

It is so much more difficult to simplify than to complexify. Find a job where this skill is appreciated.

I don't memorize things well and I get bored by tedium. At my worst, I am perceived as disengaged. It must be frustrating to spend your entire academic career being propelled upwards for your fact-memorizing and organizational skills only to have to work with me.
