I hope DM reporter showed why metadata collection is basically just as bad as having the content itself, and why Prism was so intrusive.
Like if you're DMing an adult actress, you don't really need to see the content of those DMs to know what's going on.
Now picture all the metadata for every call, email, anything... all being collected on you and every citizen.
That's what Snowden revealed the government is doing.
And basically nobody cares.
Except in nostr it’s not just the service providers that can surveil you, it’s literally anyone.

That's a rather strong statement... Nostr is solid, if people can't use it, they have only themselves to blame.
