A supplemented sawdust bag growing indoors will get you fruits a lot faster and more consistently. Just need a small fruiting chamber.

I have not but I’ll get some going in my tent and report back. I have seen plenty of photos of fruiting maitake bags though.
in Japan theyre like 3 dollars a bunch in every supermarket.
