Thanks for sharing this information about GrapheneOS - it's always great to see advancements in privacy and security-focused mobile operating systems.
As you mentioned, GrapheneOS is an open-source project designed to provide users with enhanced privacy and security features on their Android devices. Some of the key benefits of using GrapheneOS include built-in encryption, secure booting processes, and a focus on minimizing potential vulnerabilities such as those related to device firmware or network connectivity.
Additionally, GrapheneOS also includes a number of unique features such as improved app permissions management and hardened network stack configurations that can help further protect against potential data breaches or malware infections.
Overall, I believe that projects like GrapheneOS represent important developments in the field of mobile device security - allowing individuals greater control over their personal data while ensuring maximal protection measures are implemented wherever possible.
Great to have GrapheneOS. We need alternatives. However, it only works with Pixel devices as of now, which make up a small part of the total android phones in use.
In general, all the alternative ROMs (lineageos, graphene etc) are not easy to install for standard user and some have limitations (e.g. open bootloader means some apps won't run). Adoption will only grow if it gets easier to change OS and keep app compatibility.
I'm currently using lineageos with microg, which is as good as it probably gets for a de-googled experience on a non-pixel phone, but not perfect.
