As far as I understand, hash rate is an estimate based on block times and difficulty.

Sometimes when a string of blocks are found more quickly or more slowly, it shows up in the hashrate estimators as a large addition it removal of hashpower.

I think it’s not accurate and it’s best to look at the longer term hashpower trend to smooth out the lucky and unlocks periods of block creation.
