Jesus is not simply a good teacher, or a prophet, or an enlightened leader. Jesus was not an ordinary man. This verse tells us plainly that Jesus is God. He proved this by the miracles he performed and ultimately by his resurrection from the dead. Our salvation had to come by a man, but only God could do it. So God became a man. What an amazing God we serve!
